Premier Health Associates is currently seeking a full time Director of Nursing to oversee the day-to-day operations of its ambulatory surgery center. Our licensed and AAAHC accredited outpatient facility specializes in Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Orthopedics and Pain Management and performs procedures Monday-Saturday.

Reporting directly to the Administrative Manager of the ASC, the Director of Nursing will manage a team of 15 employees and oversee all daily clinical operations of the center in collaboration with Premier’s comprehensive support team of healthcare professionals including but not limited to: Medical Director, Medical Executive Committee, Executive Director, Human Resources Manager, and Billing Manager.

Qualifications:

· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; current RN license.

· Minimum BSN, master’s degree preferred.

· Current BLS/ACLS.

· Minimum three years’ experience of OR, Critical Care, supervisory/leadership and staff. development in an ASC or hospital setting.

· In-depth knowledge of nursing practices, procedures and regulations.

· Competent in exercising a high degree of initiative, critical thinking, judgment, and discretion.

· Must demonstrate a prominent level of oral and written communication skills.

· Excellent multitasking and organizational skills

· Proficient in MS Office and the use of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems

· Utilizes opportunities for professional growth by attending continuing education programs and relevant seminars and webinars.

Responsibilities:

· The Director of Nursing is responsible for directing, coordinating and controlling the multi-disciplinary activities required to provide a safe environment for patients undergoing surgical intervention. The Director of Nursing is also responsible for the interpretation, direction and evaluation of nursing practices to ensure a safe, efficient and therapeutically effective nursing care throughout the facility.

Duties:

· Oversee and manage all aspects of nursing operations within the facility.

· Skilled at performing and assisting with direct patient care for GI, Orthopedics, Pain, and General Surgery patients. (OR, Endo, Preop and Postop)

· Provides guidance and leadership oversight to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with physician instructions and facility policies and procedures.

· Responsible for overseeing the facility’s Quality Improvement, Risk Management, Patient Care, Infection Prevention and Education programs.

· Set and review clinical staff schedules in accordance with scheduled procedures.

· Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures and protocols. Review and revise these policies and procedures in collaboration with the Administrative Manager and Nursing Staff, keeping up to date on current trends in nursing practices and patient care.

· Manage staffing levels essential to the achievement of the objectives of the facility.

· Participates in recruitment, orientation, training, development, and education of nursing staff.

· Responsible for employee competencies, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.

· Performs regular review of medical records for accuracy and completion to assure care is appropriate and documentation is to standards.

· Processes and investigates incidents, adverse events, complaints, and grievances and maintains records accordingly.

· Conducts monthly staff meetings, quarterly drills, and mandatory in-services.

· Maintains knowledge and understanding and ensures compliance with all applicable State, Federal and Accreditation regulations and standards.

· Responsible for ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of medical supplies and drugs, including monitoring usage and adjusting stock levels according to the needs of the center.

· Initiate and/or support activities to control costs and make recommendations for medical supplies and equipment purchases to the Administrative Manager based on evaluation of new or improved products.
